July 12, 2023 – Great Bend, Kansas to Newton, Kansas – This was the hottest day yet, but I already had told myself that I was staying at a hotel. I found a good cheap room at The Coratel Inn & Suites. I was SO looking forward to the AC, and it gave me motivation to power through. I had a cool sighting of a Bald Eagle along the way, and had a GREAT, air conditioned early dinner, where I could even catch part of the All-Star Game!
