A Rest Day at the Schreiners’ House in Day, New York
My first real rest day! Well almost…
I slept in today, until about 7:30 a.m. I ate my first breakfast, eating almost an entire box of Corn Chex, then Kat and I went to her grandparents house for a second breakfast! We had blueberry pancakes, cherries, biscuits, sausage and gravy. So yummy! I just relaxed the rest of the morning, ate pizza for lunch, and coordinated the last 3 riding days of my trip. Hopefully a lot of my friends will ride with me over the last few days.
In planning, I realized I was going to be about 20 miles short of 4000 by the time I got to my final destination, Provincetown. So very reluctantly, I decided to do a short ride around Lake Sacandaga to make sure I hit that 4K mark. I took in some nice views of the lake, riding just about exactly opposite of Erik’s house across the lake. I also got to take some pictures I missed out on because of yesterday’s rain.
We had leftovers and ice cream for dinner. Then I packed up my bike for tomorrow, and fell asleep to fireworks over the lake. It was a great stop at the Schreiner’s. So happy it was along my route. VIEW PHOTOS
