July 17, 2023 – The ride from Summersville, Missouri to Farmington, Missouri, where I stayed with a “Warm Showers” host. Along the way, I encountered some extreme hills. These hills were numerous and steep – More challenging than what I faced in the Rockies. Up one hill on the smallest chain rings, standing, barely moving all the way up, then 30+ mph down the other side, only to have to do it all again, over and over and over. The Ozark Riverway was beautiful though. I found a cool fire tower to climb, and had to deal with a brief but intense thunderstorm. Luckily, I found shelter.
